The rules and/or regulations set forth herein do not express or imply warranty of safety, from publication of, or compliance with these rules, and/or regulations. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of Show-Me Racin Series competitors and are in no way a guarantee against injury to participants.
These rules and/or regulations will apply at all Show-Me Racin Series sanctioned events.
Show-Me Racin Series Officials shall have full authority over said sanctioned events, and in the event of any dispute, the Race Directors decisions shall be final.
The Show-Me Racin Series reserves the right to amend or alter these rules or regulations in the interest of fair competition.
For example: If several of the top finishers weighed light, as do cars further back in the pack when checked, it would be assumed that there was a problem with the scales and everyone would be declared legal. However, if just one or two cars were light, then they would be disqualified.
Special events may be governed by different rules. If so, amendments will be given on flyers for the event and/or at the driver’s meeting.
Anyone sustaining injury in the competition area must report the injury an official before the end of the night’s race program. All benefits will be voided if reported later.
Conduct
Drinking and/or drug use will result in suspension of car and driver as well as the entire crew.
Fighting will result in a $100 fine that will be applied to the point fund. Second offense will result in a $100 fine and loss of points.
Often split second decisions must by made by our officials, with everyone’s (drivers, fans, sponsors) best interests in mind. Please try to understand that we are doing our best to do what’s right, whether you agree with the call or not! Your point of view will be considered for future reference, but we can not change a decision that has been made by our officials the night of the race. We appreciate your input, but it needs to be done through talking, not fighting or yelling!
Please remember kids are looking up to the drivers as role models, but also the crew members, and parents and spouses of the drivers as well! The better image we project as a group will lead to more fan interest and sponsor money that will benefit everyone!
Technical Procedures
All cars will be inspected prior to hot laps.
All qualifying cars will be inspected at inspection area.
The top 6 cars in the feature will report directly to the inspection area plus any other car(s) picked at random.
Any car competing in the feature may be checked for cubic inches, compression ratio and port inspection of cylinder head. Intake manifold and/or cylinder head removal may be required.
Any car may have carburetors inspected. First and second place finishers shall remove carburetor from engine for inspection. All cars subject to fuel inspection.
Any car disqualified for weight rule violation after feature shall be awarded last position points and pay.
** Any part or piece of any car can be inspected at anytime**
Provisional Starting Positions
The top 2 in Show-Me Racin Series points, who do not make the A-main through all other qualifying procedures, will be offered a provisional starting position. The first event of the season will go by the previous years’ points.
Each driver will get 5 provisionals per race season.
In addition to the 2 highest cars in Show-Me Series points that fail to qualify for the feature, at selected tracks, and at the option of Show-Me Series officials, the Track Promoter may have the option to start extra driver(s) at the rear of the field, provided the track is big enough to support the extra car(s) and the prize money to pay the additional driver(s) is added to the purse. Those drivers shall be of significance to the track, such as defending champion, past champion or other such criteria. ALL cars starting the A feature by any means will be awarded points for their finishing position in the feature. Also, additional cars may be added at different times when extra money is added to the purse. A driver must take the green flag in the B feature to be eligible to receive a provisional starting spot in the A.
Championship Points System
Point Fund will be made up of from sponsor money and entry fee money. (see point fund structure page)
All entrants in Show-Me Racin Series events will receive championship points towards the Championships point fund.
The top 22 drivers that compete in 75% of the shows, and are a Show-Me Racin Series member are eligible for point fund money and other contingencies.
All entrants will receive a minimum of 10 championship points. These points are awarded to all entrants that do not advance to a feature or last chance race.
All entrants of last chance race but do not transfer to the feature will be awarded 15 championship points.
All entrants that start the feature event will be awarded championship points according to their finishing position in the feature event. The winner will be awarded 70 points, second place 68 points, each position after will be worth two less points than the previous position. All finishers below the 26th position will be awarded 20 points.
Please be at track 45 minutes prior to race time so you can draw and be put in the line-up. In unavoidable circumstances please call ahead so we can put you in the line-up, otherwise you will start tailback in the heat.
To be considered for Rookie of the Year, you can not have competed in more than 5 total Show-Me events and NOT won a Late Model A feature in the driver’s racing career
During inclement weather 75% of the purse may be paid.
Regarding a back-up car
If a driver loses a car during the heat race, due to a crash or mechanical failure, he may substitute a back-up car or borrow another car. If a car other than the primary car is used the driver will start tailback in the B feature.
When a driver takes the green flag in the B feature in a car, he must use that car in the A feature if he qualifies through racing, or if he receives a provisional starting spot.
In addition, should a driver switch cars for any reason after the heat race, he will be required to pay a $50 entry fee for the additional car. This money will go to the point fund.
Show-Me Series Race Procedure
First night – all drivers will draw for heat starting position – top 10 in passing points will be inverted for feature
From second night on all drivers will be placed in heat races by their total points, with 1st in points going to 1st heat, 2nd in points going to 2nd heat, and so on. After the cars are separated into the proper heat races, then each driver will draw for their starting position within that heat. Top 10 in passing points will be inverted for feature according to point average. A new car with a spec motor that makes the top 10 in passing points will be lined up in last invert position. A driver with an open motor who makes the top ten in passing points will be moved to the 11th starting position, bringing drivers with spec motors forward into the top 10 starting with 11th. Should more than one driver with an open motor make the top ten, then they will be lined up starting at 11th in order of passing points received.
With 22 cars or less, the “B feature” will be made up of the remainder of cars not making the top 10 in passing points, lined straight-up by heat race passing points. “A feature” will be lined up by B feature finish. (all cars will transfer)
With more than 22 cars top 10 in passing points inverted according to point average, next 6 lined according to passing points from heat, remainder will run B lined straight-up by heat race passing points. Top 4- 6 will transfer to A feature, with 1 B feature, top 2-3 will transfer with 2 B features.
If a driver is absent two consecutive shows (excluding rain-outs) upon his return he shall be treated as a new car for the first week he returns.
Flag rules
Yellow Flag:
Race back to the start/finish line when the yellow flag is displayed. All cars causing yellow or stopping on a yellow (unless stopped by an official), will be placed on the rear of restarting line-up. An area will be designated (usually the pit area) for any work to be done during a yellow flag. Cars causing yellow and remaining on racing surface that are able to restart without service will be placed on the rear, in the order they were running prior to yellow flag. Cars going to work area will be placed on the rear in the order they return to the track.
Red Flag:
Stop racing immediately when the red flag is displayed. Cars that the red flag was thrown for will be placed at the rear of restarting line-up, provided they are able to continue. All other drivers may enter the pits for repair, while the red is displayed, and assume their original grid positions, provided that they are on the track before the one to go signal has been given. In all cases, either starts or restarts, if the one lap to go signal has been given, those rejoining after the signal must join the field at the rear.
*An attempt will be made to let all cars complete 1 lap on the original start
In the case of a yellow OR red flag, crew members will NOT be allowed on the race track to work on the cars. All work must be done in the pre-designated area, or the driver will be sent tailback.
Blue with stripe:
Leaders are approaching – move high or low if the flagman points you to a particular position. If he just shows you the flag without directing you, HOLD your position on the track so the leaders will know where to go around you.

The Auto Xpress Rookie of the Year will receive $1000 in addition to their finishing position percentage.
The above adds up to 100% -- the total amount of the point fund will be multiplied by each position’s percentage which will equal the dollar amount that position receives.
Example: If we have $30,000 at the end of the season to distribute then
10th place would receive -- $30,000 x 4% = $1200.00
If we have $50,000 then 10th place would receive
$50,000 x 4% = $2000.00
Drivers who are members and race 75% of the shows, that finish outside the top 22 will receive .5% ($30,000 x .5% = $150)
